Welcome
to Ute Indian Flutes, the online home of
authentic Native American handcrafted wooden flutes made by Edward Bent Box, aka
Red Ute.
|
|
|
In the summer of 2004, Red Ute and his wife,
Diane, who creates the beadwork for the flutes, decided to leave the Southern
Ute Indian Reservation in order to bring their handcrafts to a wider audience.
They moved to Asheville, North Carolina, in the Great Smoky mountains, an area
long known for it's community support, its artists and craftspeople from many
different backgrounds. |
Although
traditional Plains Indian flutes were once used solely for courting, Red Ute
says that they can now be used for peace. "For one human being to bring good
feelings to another, to give the heart a voice to communicate with the Great
Spirit, to produce a feeling of relaxation, and to bring vibrational healing to
the flute player and his or her audience. It makes one aware of the spirit
within."

We hope you will enjoy your visit to Ute Indian Flutes. Happy Journey to you
all! Peace and Harmony.
